The Wishing Spell By Colfer, Chris – Book Review By a Second-Grader
Chris Colfer has written a book series called The Land of Stories, Book 1 of which is The Wishing Spell.
“Through the mysterious powers of a cherished book of stories, twins Alex and Conner leave their world behind and find themselves in a foreign land full of wonder and magic where they come face-to-face with the fairy tale characters they grew up reading about”–
I first saw the book in my classroom but never got the chance to read it. When I held it from the library, I started reading it right away and couldn’t stop until the very end. First, the story starts with twins Alex and Conner Bailey having a normal day at their school. Next, their grandma brings them an old and dusty book. Finally, they get pulled inside the book and don’t know how to go out. This is how the magical story in the book starts.
There are a lot of reasons why I enjoyed this book.
